Our mission is simple. Make it easy for friends and family to know where you are. What’s more, it’s FREE!
Simply register your boat and enter its position whenever appropriate. When your friends come to skipr.net they simply enter the name of your boat to find out where it is.
To have your boat “found” on Skipr.net, just register your boat on Skipr.net and enter your position. Now that internet access is available and affordable wherever you are, simply enter your boat’s position on the Skipr website whenever convenient and anyone can see where it is.
Here we’ll take you though the simple steps to register with Skipr.net and report your first position:
1. Click on “Register” (top right hand side of any page) and fill out the following form (please use your real email address, it allows you to recover your password should you ever forget it).
2. Next, click “Log in” to get into the system with the username and password you just set up. The system will remember them so you’ll only rarely need to enter them again. You might consider setting some of the options using the Control Panel or you can move straight on to entering your first position:
3. Just enter the boat’s position by clicking on “Report Position” and filling out this form.
The date and time default to current values, but you can alter them when entering historical values. That’s all there is to it. Click on “Report Position” whenever you want to log another lat/long. You can edit the entries or delete them using the “Edit Position Log” menu item. And of course you can now go to your boat’s page to view its position superimposed on a satellite map.
That’s all there is to it, register now!
